Children Inner Ear Dysfunction: Sings to be early detected in children with inner-ear dysfunction

If a child show the following behaviors, modes, a physician should be consulted.

  • From 0 to 3 months old: If the baby does not blink his eye-lids, does not calm down upon hearing the mother's voice and he only emits monochord sounds.
  • From 3 to 6 months old: If the baby becomes indifferent towards familiar sounds, does not make any throat sounds ( guttural sounds ) to try calling up the attention of the parents, or does not take in his hands any of the sounds toys left nearby.

  • From 9 to 12 months old: If the child does not understand the words " Mom " or " Dad " or he does not recognize familiar words such as " give me " unless the actual gesture with the hand is made.
  • From 12 to 18 months old: If such child does not pronounce words such as " Mother " or " Father ", if familiar objects or persons are being named but not pointed at, and the child does not react, also when he does not entertain himself by making familiar sounds.
  • From 18 to 24 months old: If the child does not pay attention to children stories when being read, does not understand simple orders if not accompained indicative gestures, cannot identify his own body parts, he does not recognize his name and does not make two words sentences.
  • From 24 to 36 months old: If the child's words cannot ne understood when pronounced, if he does not repeat sentences and does not respond to simple questions.
An later on, if the child is not capable of making conversation with others children and has not developed a mode nature language, only understandable by his close family members.
